Your points reward for Creating an Account is a great way to welcome new customers to your store.

Sometimes when a customer creates a loyalty account, they won't receive points for this action. There are a number of possible reasons for this:


They are an existing customer with your Shopify store

The Create an Account action encourages new loyalty members to finalize the steps of creating a store account with your Shopify store. If a customer already has a store account, they will simply not see the option to Create an Account in your loyalty widget.

They signed up for your newsletter

If a customer visits your store and signs up for your newsletter, their email address will be added to the members list in your loyalty program. They will not receive Create an Account points until they go back to your store and create an account by adding their name and a password.

They made a purchase as a guest

If a customer checks out from your store as a guest, they will earn loyalty points for their order and be registered as a member in your loyalty program. They will not receive Create an Account points until they go back to the store and create an account through your Shopify store.
